The SKT - 350 is a tangential energy absorption system.  

The SKT works by using the force of the impacting vehicle to sequentially kink the rail. These kinks cause the rail to be bent away from the vehicle.

This design allows allows for an 4,400lb (2000kg) vehicle to be safely decelerated from 62mph (100km/h).

The unique head of the SKT is activated with 1/3 lower forces that other tangential systems, thus lowering the impact forces on the occupants of the vehicle.

When impacted from the side, the vehicle is safely redirected back into the original travel path.

System installation is made simple by using standard guardrail sections, a lightweight impact head, and foundation tubes that are specially designed to ease the removal of fractured wood posts.
